Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza Recipe

 Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza

Dough

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Tsp Sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Tsp dry Yeast
  • 3/4 Cup warm water.
  • 3 Tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • In a large bowl combine dry ingredients. Slowly add in water and olive oil, hand kneading or using a dough hook until a dough ball forms. If the dough is too sticky slowly add more flour until manageable.
  • Turn off oven.
  • In another heat safe bowl coat lightly with olive oil. Place dough inside. Cover with towel. Place dough bowl inside warm oven.
  • Let dough rest in the warmed oven while we make the toppings.

Toppings

Ingredients

  • 2 Chicken Breasts
  • 1/2 Lb Bacon
  • 1 Small Onion
  • 4-5 Small Mushrooms (optional)
  • 2/3 Cups Ranch (Any Brand)
  • 3 Cups Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1 Tsp. crushed garlic
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

  • Cube your chicken breast. Chop up the uncooked bacon. Finely dice onion and mushrooms.
  • Add above ingredients to large skillet and cook until done. Mushrooms and onions should become very small so they are just for flavor. Add garlic, salt, and pepper for additional flavors.
  • Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Remove your dough from oven then turn your oven on and back to 350F.
  • Lightly flour desired area and roll out your now-risen dough (should be about 13-15 inch circle)
  • Place dough on Pizza Pan.
  • Pour your ranch on top and smooth into an even layer.
  • Sprinkle with cheese until the ranch is no longer showing.
  • Add toppings from skillet.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until crust is golden.

Recipe Notes

  • Personally I prefer the homemade pizza crust, and so does my family, however if you would rather a store bought pizza crust will do just fine.
  • I always use All-Purpose Flour, but Bread Flour will work just as well.
  • With the Yeast any is fine. I generally use active dry yeast, but Pizza Dough Yeast or Quick Rising will give you the same results. If you decide to get the packages of yeast instead of a jar 1 package is fine.
  • Normal Olive Oil is what I use, but virgin and extra virgin will give you the same results.
  • I generally use uncooked chicken breasts, but you could use leftover rotisserie chicken as well.
  • While the mushrooms are optional I suggest trying it with them. They are diced small enough that there is no texture issues with them. That is a complaint a lot of people give me when asked why they don't like cooked mushrooms and this recipe handles that well.
  • If you want more than 3 cups of Mozzarella then go for it! Don't be afraid to stuff some into the crust as well if that is something you enjoy!! This is your pizza. Have fun with it!
  • I keep a jar of diced garlic in my fridge at all times and generally use about a tsp of it in this recipe. You could also get garlic cloves and dice 2 of them and get the same thing.
  • A favorite in my household is combining 1 Tsp. Garlic Powder and 2 Tsp. melted butted then braising the crust with it before it goes into the oven. I am a firm believer that you should enjoy all of your pizza, not just the toppings section!

What the Family thinks:

This is always a crowd pleaser in my household. Husband has no complaints as it already has Ranch on it. Son loves that it is pizza. I love that he is getting meat and veggies. Daughter loves it so much that the first time she crawled was over to a piece of this pizza. I am actually not kidding on this. It was hilarious.
The first time I made this pizza my husband took one bite and told me we are never ordering Papa Murphy's Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza again. So, if you are wondering how it compares, well this one is better.

I hope that you enjoy this pizza recipe as much as my family has. Please let me know if you tried it and if you did anything different! Enjoy!
